Image Converter

Convert images between JPEG, PNG, and WebP. This changes only the format — no resizing or compression. Everything happens locally in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.

How it works

Choose a JPEG, PNG, or WebP file, or drag and drop it onto the tool.

  2. 2

  3. 3

    Convert and download

Convert the image and download the result — same dimensions, new format, all without uploading.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The converter runs entirely in your browser. Your images and metadata never leave your device.
Which conversions are supported?
You can convert between JPEG, PNG, and WebP in any direction — for example PNG to JPEG, JPEG to WebP, or WebP to PNG.
Does converting change the image size or dimensions?
No. The converter only changes the file format. The pixel dimensions stay the same — it does not resize or compress the image. Use the Image Resizer if you also need to change dimensions.
What happens to transparency when I convert to JPEG?
JPEG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a white background. Convert to PNG or WebP to keep transparency.
Will EXIF metadata be preserved?
No. The output is re-encoded from raw pixels, which removes most metadata, including EXIF data such as GPS location. Image orientation is applied to the pixels so your image stays upright.

About this image converter

This converter re-encodes your image into a new format right inside your browser, keeping the original dimensions. It is a pure format conversion — it does not resize or reduce quality to shrink the file.

Choose WebP for the best balance of quality and size on the modern web, JPEG for broad compatibility with photographs, or PNG when you need lossless output or transparency. To also change dimensions or target a specific file size, use the Image Resizer or Compress to Target Size tools.
